Coach!

2 weeks of Basketball coaching were over. I dint go for a week because of my injury. (lol) Our coach was absent the day i got injured. Another coach came in replacement. I have seen him playing during the break. He got the talent, skills and style. Looks in his late teenage years.

After some days when i returned we played a good game and obeyed our coach. She was going to remain absent. During the national anthem, the other day, my eyes were on the gate.’Coach please u cant remain absent’. I dint want that guy (Sanjay – name changed) to train us for that day. She dint come! An hour passed. In that hour he told us to put the ball in the basket from the 2inch line. Its a little away from the basket but we tired our best. Only 1 girl was able to put it in the basket. He was getting frustrated because we dint know basketball (WHY ARE WE HERE Mr.SANJAY?). I was the captain in my school team. Took 1 and a half years break and i lost the grip on the game. He kept on discouraging us that day. He was rude, arrogant and what not! He was lucky that day i dint lose my temper on him. He got everything in him but he doesn’t know how to talk. It would have been good if someone would have told him that HE IS TRAINING THE GIRLS NOT THE BOYS! The other friend of his is another piece. Well 3weeks done and i haven’t seen him smile (WEIRDO) He thinks i cant play but whenever i step inside the court and look at his face the only thing h comes into my mind is “GIRL YOU GOTTA PLAY WELL 2DAY!” A month over now. No basketball from tomorrow. It was time to leave the ground. The closing ceremony was over too. We performed well. The coaches were distributing the certificates. When everything was over i went to Sanjay. He welcomed me with a smile , i smiled back and i I told him,”You came for 2 days for the girls but i can tell you that u were better than our coach.” He smiled and his friends were smiling too. I would have been the last person on earth for him to get a compliment from. i continued,”You were rude, arrogant, discouraging BUT i can tell you, you were the best” NOW his friends were laughing on him. So i repeated “you were awesome thanks alot, take care bye!” and i left! :) Thûg Mï$$€$0563

‘Many of the great achievements of the world were accomplished by tired and discouraged men who kept on working……….’ Its a beautiful saying. Conclusion : don’t discourage those who don’t know. He is the coach and he was a beginner too once upon a time.

I HOPE HE PLAYS FOR THE ‘LA LAKERS’ ONE DAY! (lol)

Nice article. Coaching and mentoring requires dedication and devotion to students..so that they do well..sometimes, constructive criticism is needed but it can be done in a compassionate manner. Being a mentor myself, I have experienced this. I have learnt from my mistakes when I started mentoring some years ago. Looking forward to read many more articles…best wishes, Jay
